Massage
With over ten years of experience in various massage styles, I provide massage sessions as part of my wellness programs or as a single treatment:
Holistic Massage is a treatment that not only focusses on tense muscles as a physical result of stress, but it also considers a client’s emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
Deep tissue massage mainly used to treat musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries. It involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues. This helps to break up scar tissue that forms following an injury and reduce tension in muscle and tissue. It also promotes faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.
Therapeutic Massage relieves muscle aches and pains through manipulation of the soft tissues and muscles. This massage type often borrows from techniques from sports massage, deep tissue massage, and Swedish massage to provide relief from tension and relaxation. Good for sports conditioning and rehabilitation, or as a means of relaxation.
Remedial Massage is a type of massage designed to treat both deep and superficial tissues. It can be used for relaxation or to reduce pain and normalize the body's muscles and soft tissues. This type of massage treats muscular problems while also encouraging deep relaxation. It involves various massage techniques such as effleurage, deep strokes, compressions, wringing, and skin rolling to achieve the desired outcomes. A remedial massage can have many physiological effects on the body, including increased venous return, the breakdown of adhesions, increased positive hormones, and decreased cortisol. It can be applied to all areas of the body.
Swedish/Relaxation massage is a smooth, gentle, flowing style that promotes general relaxation, relieves muscular tension, plus improves circulation and range of movement.
Pregnancy Massage (pre and postnatal) Prenatal massage (from 12 weeks over) promotes relaxation and bonding, soothes nerves, and relieves a strained back and tired muscles in expectant mothers.
Postnatal massage helps restore the body after pregnancy and birth, as well as helping to relieve any aches, pains, and tiredness.
Both treatments ( Pre & Postnatal massage) are tailored to the individual needs and includes a combination of relaxation, deep tissue, and remedial massage techniques.
Ayurvedic Indian Head Massage is a seated and fully clothed massage that helps reduce stress, fatigue, eyestrain, increase mental clarity, relaxes, and rejuvenates the receiver. It works on the areas of the body that are most affected by stress. However, while the treatment is just on the upper part of the body, its effects are felt throughout the whole body and mind.
